I've gone from being a Baritone to a Tenor, though it took years of work extending my range. Thank G-d, I can still sing well at 73; as always, the challenge is convincing others, even the Oberlin Alumni Association, that this is indeed the case! In the Jewish World of the Cantor, the Folk Cantor verses the Interpretative Cantor at Synagogue Services remains a formidable challenge. While at first glance, Congregants singing and clapping along do seem to be engaged, there is often a failure to even attempt to reach People at ANY deeper level. The challenge of an Actor and Singer is getting cast. Unknownness perpetuates unknownness!
